Whenever there is a product with an apple logo slapped on top of it’s glossy finishing, I will buy it. I recently went out and bought the new Magic Mouse by Apple and initial impressions were very positive. The sleek design and the seamless Multi-Touch technology is amazingly accurate. Scrolling through iPhoto and iTunes made the experience that much more enjoyable. Then I launched Adobe Photoshop. I was zooming in and out in my window due to the sensitivity of the Multi-Touch, and the sharp edges of the new mouse started to feel uncomfortable. These two factors slowed my work performance noticeably. The Magic Mouse did away with the side buttons as well, which I thought were really useful on the previous mouse. Now, whenever I design I switch back to my old trusty Mighty Mouse. All in all, the Magic Mouse is great for Apple apps like iPhoto, but not so much with the programs I use to do my work. But hey, if it has an apple as a logo, I will buy it.
